Unexpected immunoregulation effects of D-lactate, different from L-lactate

چکیده
With advances in the study of human microbiome, fact that lactate is smallest chiral molecule nature has drawn attention. However, there have been few comparative studies on classification L-lactate and D-lactate. In this study, we investigated safety efficacy D-lactate as an immunomodulator food origin. terms evaluation, both lactates were found to promote cell proliferation repair. was well tolerated for 30 d at doses up 2000 mg/kg mice. immune function unexpectedly, enhance immunity by increasing organ index, ear swelling lymphocyte conversion rate, haemolysis rate macrophage phagocytosis had a dose-dependent effect. showed stronger regulation effects than L-lactate. This proves immunoregulation capacity provides mechanistic basis bioactivity fermented foods.

L-lactate and D-lactate - clinical significance of the difference
In all vertebrates, including humans, the L-lactate form is by far the most abundant and pathophysiologically significant, and it is this form that is specifically measured by the lactate sensors in blood gas analyzers and indeed all routine methods used to measure lactate in the clinical laboratory. The main focus of this brief review is physiological and pathological aspects that distinguish ...
متن کاملEvolution of D-lactate dehydrogenase activity from glycerol dehydrogenase and its utility for D-lactate production from lignocellulose.
Lactic acid, an attractive, renewable chemical for production of biobased plastics (polylactic acid, PLA), is currently commercially produced from food-based sources of sugar. Pure optical isomers of lactate needed for PLA are typically produced by microbial fermentation of sugars at temperatures below 40 °C. Bacillus coagulans produces L(+)-lactate as a primary fermentation product and grows o...
متن کاملL-Lactate transport into rat heart mitochondria and reconstruction of the L-lactate/pyruvate shuttle.
In vitro reconstruction of the L-lactate/pyruvate shuttle has been performed, which allows NADH oxidation outside rat heart mitochondria. Such a shuttle occurs due to the combined action of the novel mitochondrial L-lactate/pyruvate antiporter, which differs from the monocarboxylate carrier, and the mitochondrial L-lactate dehydrogenase. The rate of L-lactate/pyruvate antiport proved to regulat...
متن کاملNAD-Independent L-Lactate Dehydrogenase Is Required for L-Lactate Utilization in Pseudomonas stutzeri SDM
BACKGROUND Various Pseudomonas strains can use L-lactate as their sole carbon source for growth. However, the L-lactate-utilizing enzymes in Pseudomonas have never been identified and further studied. METHODOLOGY/PRINCIPAL FINDINGS An NAD-independent L-lactate dehydrogenase (L-iLDH) was purified from the membrane fraction of Pseudomonas stutzeri SDM. The enzyme catalyzes the oxidation of L-la...
